Maypop Art is the creative studio of Mississippi artist Meagan Torrence. Inspired by nostalgia, nature, and the beauty found in everyday life, the work explores memory, wonder, and the stories hidden in ordinary moments. Influenced in part by seeing the world through the eyes of her daughter, Wilder, Meagan creates original artwork, custom commissions, pet portraits, and murals that celebrate the people, places, and experiences worth holding onto.
Meet the Artist
Meagan Torrence is a Mississippi artist, illustrator, and muralist who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Mississippi in 2014. Since graduating, she has worked primarily as a commissioned artist, creating custom paintings and artwork for collectors, families, and businesses throughout the region. Through Maypop Art, Meagan draws inspiration from nature, nostalgia, and the beauty hidden in everyday life, creating work that celebrates curiosity, connection, and the stories often overlooked in the ordinary.
Maypop Art began as a way for Meagan to intentionally create alongside her daughter, Wilder, and build a life where creativity was woven into everyday moments. While the business has grown over the years, that purpose remains at its heart. From painting and exploring outdoors to finding inspiration in the ordinary, Maypop continues to be a celebration of curiosity, connection, and a shared creative life.
